Tumor Biology Services:
a. In vitro assays:
- Cell culture (DTC cell lines collection including NCI60 panel)
T-75 Flask of tumor cells from DTC inventory (guaranteed mycoplasma-free and one replacement flask if first flask becomes contaminated).
- Tumor proliferation tests including clonogenic assay
Modified cytotoxicity study/proliferation assay (12 cell lines from different tumor histologies) for up to 30 compounds screened at a single concentration and up to 5 compounds tested in a dose response study (5 concentrations) for IC50 determination
- Migration/invasion assay including endothelial migration assay
Assays reflect in vivo processes including organogenesis, metastasis, and wound healing.
- Cell labeling
Collaborating with DNA and RNA delivery core, DTC will be able to generate of stably infected cell cultures of primary keratinocytes, keratinocyte and other epithelial cell lines
- Drug uptake
Qualitative and quantitative drug uptake evaluation.
- Cell line imaging including live imaging
Cells containing reporters such as fluorescent dye or metal nanoparticles can be imaged using confocal light microscope (collaboration with CAMI) or Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)/Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), respectively (in collaboration with BIF or EPIC).
Detecting of antigen(s) or any protein(s) in cell(s) or tissue section(s) by exploiting the principle of antibodies binding specifically to antigens in biological tissues.
